About the job
The Trade Analyst will be a key role in supporting the trade team by analysing and optimising trade decisions whilst taking the ownership for trade compliance. Your colleagues in the team are responsible for buying raw materials and selling biodiesel and by-products while the Trade Analyst keeps the overview, optimize trade flows and commercial decision where possible and makes sure the Trade team follows the agreed processes. It’s a highly visible position in the organization where you will interact with many other departments including Supply Chain, Sustainability, Operations and Finance. Your performance directly impacts the bottom line of the company.


Tasks and responsibilities

  • Optimise commercial margins: Work closely with the Trade team and other departments to optimize the book and commercial margins and evaluate day-to-day trade decisions. Drive data driven decision making and enhance current tools that support the team in the daily buying/selling decisions.
  • Management reporting: Preparation of market risk report (i.e. daily exposure) and ad-hoc reporting/analysis as required by Senior Management. Report on commercial KPI’s such as sales volumes, production and trading margin, other commercial KPIs.
  • Optimize trade processes: Pro-actively improve the processes within the trade team, standardize the way of working and eliminate the room for errors and enhance established control frameworks.
  • Contract governance, systems and PowerBI: As the owner of the trade and execution policy you ensure the team follows the agreed internal & external processes. In addition you streamline our systems and PowerBI functionality to support better governance and decision making.
  • Market analysis: Prepare market analysis (standard and ad-hoc) and presentation materials for management meetings. Develop new reports and analysis to meet reporting requirements of the Traders and Management.

Job requirements

About you

To be successful in this position you should recognize yourself in the following points:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a B2B environment
  • Energetic and driven to optimise commercial results
  • Analytical and problem-solving thinking – systematically identifies and understands problems and proposes potential resolutions
  • Strong communication skills to succeed in complex stakeholder environments
  • Listening skills accompanied by the ability to absorb lots of information quickly
  • Sense of responsibility and drive to ensure high quality of work
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel
  • Commodity experience is preferable, but not required
  • Excellent English communication skills verbal and written
