Job description
Main purpose of the role:
The Terminal Team Leader oversees the daily operations of the terminal facility, ensuring the smooth loading and discharge of fuel components to and from the site. This role involves managing a small team of operators, promoting a safe and productive environment, and ensuring all operations comply with company standards and regulations.
This role will suit someone who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment. During the days the operational focus is on vehicle transfers as well as monitoring permit to work conditions, whereas nights is used for routine monitoring of transfers. You will work a 4 on, 4 off, 12 hour shift pattern, which will include working nights, weekends and public holidays.
What you will be doing:
Lead and motivate terminal operators ensuring compliance with company policies and site procedures, including performance management, appraisals, training and development
Issuing permits to work and ensuring the work authorisation procedure is being adhered to in full and ensuring performance standards are met.
Responsible for ensuring that the biomass boilers is run safely and efficiently.
Ensuring that the operations team and third party contractors/hauliers all adhere to the HSE requirements and housekeeping standards through site audits, safety observations and discussions.
Accurately input Blend Work Orders on ERP to ensure process complete to timescales.
Undertake Operator duties as required (see Operation Job Description).
Your key relationships will be:
As well as your immediate team, you will work closely with Supply Chain regarding changes to daily plans and the Maintenance team in relation to planned and unplanned work on site. You will also oversee contractors and hauliers ensuring compliance to site rules.

Ability to follow processes and procedures, yet be proactive when problems arise
Good communication skills for dealing with external contractors and hauliers
Able to remain calm under pressure when workload peaks
Qualifications and experience required:
HNC or NVQ L3 in process operations (desirable)
NEBOSH certificate (desirable)
Experience in a terminal or logistics environment
Supervisory or leadership experience (desirable)
Experience of fuel handling and bulk storage
Experience on COMAH sites (advantageous)
