The Argent Biodiesel production will be further expanded in the coming years through the construction of a new production plant at our location in Amsterdam. As a result, the maintenance team needs a:

Teamlead Utilities

Fulltime based in Amsterdam


Main purpose of the job:

The Teamlead is responsible for supervising and coordinating all plant utility systems and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations. The role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities on utility systems and equipment, while coordinating technicians, planning jobs, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The Teamlead manages a team of technicians and ensures the right skills and expertise to be available for execution.

Workshop Operations

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise operating and monitoring utility systems including boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, and water treatment equipment

  • Coordinate routine inspections of equipment and pipelines to identify performance issues, leaks, or irregular conditions.

  • Schedule and supervise basic maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting to optimize equipment efficiency.

  • Ensure jobs are executed in line with safety, quality, and technical standards.

  • Monitor workflow on progress and manage plan adherence

  • Manage maintenance and operation performance metrics, downtime, and equipment reliability in alignment met planning and Reliability engineering

 

Leadership & Team Support

  • Lead a team of technicians in executing maintenance and operational tasks.

  • Allocate daily responsibilities based on skill set and maintenance priorities.

  • Mentor and train team members on maintenance best practices and safety procedures.

  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and Continuous improvement.

  • Ensure team’s engagement.

  • Ensure availability of the right resources in team -or contracted via SLA or hiring technicians

 

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities in CMMS (Ultimo).

  • Support implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.

 

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to HSE procedures in the workshop. E.g. Job, PTW, TRA, LOTOTO procedures

  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, and legal requirements standards.

  • Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident reporting.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, log files and safety checks.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve workshop processes, tools, and maintenance practices.

  • Contribute to reliability initiatives and standardization of mechanical repair methods.

  • Assist in spare parts management and quality control of repaired equipment.

Vereisten

About You

You recognize yourself in the following competences: leader, planning and organisation skills, critical, systematic, budget awareness, communicative & independent. In addition, you have:

  • MBO/HBO degree in Engineering or equivalent.

  • 3–5 years of operational experience, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industry.

  • Experience in a supervisory or senior technician role is a plus.

  • Boiler Operator License.

  • Knowledge of Dutch/European safety standards (e.g., VCA, ATEX) preferred.

  • Fluent in Dutch; English proficiency is an advantage.

  • Solid technical knowledge of utility equipment (boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, and water treatment equipment).

  • Hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to coordinate and motivate a team of technicians.

  • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Safety-first mindset and familiarity with HSE standards.

  • Basic knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance reporting.
