The Team Leader is ‘hands on’ as teams are lean. Employees work a 12 hour shifts 4 on 6 off. Standby on call is a feature of the shift system where one individual per shift must be available to be contacted 1 hour either side of the shift start time. Based on a 0700 hours and 1900 hours start this would be: 0600 – 0800 hrs and 1800 – 2000 hrs.
Main Purpose of the Job:
Leads a shift team within our biodiesel plant, to maximise plant targets ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance
What you will be doing:
Monitors plant performance and communicates actions to shift personnel to ensure KPIs are met.
Drives SHEQ compliance by driving high standards for housekeeping, and ensures issues and events are raised and actioned (in Ultimo).
Trains and develops the team to ensure they are fully competent and kept up to date with business developments.
Maintains accurate records of plant operations, including logs, shift handovers and incident reports.
Monitors plant equipment and materials to ensure they are in good condition and stored correctly. Ensures all issues raised by the team are updated and actioned in the Maintenance system.
Ensures Maintenance is carried out according to the predefined schedule and in line with safe systems of work.
Troubleshoot operational issues and resolve them promptly, coordinating with other departments as needed.
Manage all HR related matters to optimise your teams performance in line with HR policies.
Your key relationships will be:
The other Shift Team Leaders to ensure a detailed and precise shift handover to oncoming teams.
Plant Manager to communicate plant performance and production issues
Maintenance regarding preventative and planned maintenance

Job requirements
Skills and behaviours you will need to be successful:
Strong understanding of pre-treatment/chemical process operations, control systems, and troubleshooting techniques. (essential)
Familiarity with process equipment (pumps, compressors, reactors, heat exchangers, etc.) and their operation. (essential)
Managing the Safe System of Work (essential)
Knowledge of SHE legislation (essential)
Project management (desirable)
Can lead, motivate and influence teams
Actively promote a team-working environment and always lead by example, demonstrating Argent values.

Specific experience/qualifications required:
Degree in Engineering or Science discipline (desirable)
Relevant H&S qualification (desirable)
Previous supervisory experience (desirable)
