The hours of this role are 8am-4pm, 37.5 hours per week. There is also expected participation in a call-out rota and overtime available.
Main purpose of the role:
Manage aspects of the utility requirements, including boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors and nitrogen, to ensure they can be operated safely, reliably, and efficiently whilst complying with strict SEPA/PSSR legislation, including becoming BOAS trained and the responsible person for ACOP L8 Legionella compliance.
What you will be doing:
Report and action safety concerns via T-Card/Gen-S/CMMS system
Review & Develop SOPs for all utilities.
Monitor, trend and report the performance of utilities, so that issues can be detected and addressed before they have an impact on production.
Develop improvements that will enhance the reliability and safety of the utilities – implement these as projects or MOC’s. Train & develop Operational and Maintenance personnel
Ensure all PSSR actions are completed by their due date. All PM scheduled inspections need to be filtered into the maintenance planning system via Ultimo.
Develop spares holding based on criticality and manage their use appropriately. Track all costs and feedback appropriately.
Work closely with service providers to ensure we remain compliant with HASWA/SEPA legislation concerning chemical dosing.
Ensure service contracts are in place where required and clear scopes are presented by service providers. Monitor the performance of service providers.

Job requirements
Skills and behaviours you will need to be successful:
5 - 10 years of experience working with Boilers within the Oil/Gas/Chemical Industry
For internal applicants - completion of grading criteria up to Grade 5
Worked to and understands Legislation & Standards concerning Boiler Operations
Competent to Maintain/Operate Boilers
Knowledge of water treatment systems, testing and chemicals.
Experience with Critical Spares Management
Competent with CMMS (Ultimo)
Experience Leading Teams of Contractors

Qualifications and experience required:
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
IOSH/NEBOSH – Workplace Safety
BOAS Certification – Boiler Operation
