Purpose of the role:

The Field Operator works in a plant environment assisting hauliers with the unloading and loading of materials and stock to the site, as well as undertaking logistics and laboratory tasks.

The Field Operator will work a 4 on, 4 off, 12 hour shift system which will include working weekends and public holidays.

What you will be doing:

  1.        Ensure drivers are inducted to Site and are aware of their responsibilities before assisting with loading and offloading of materials

  2.        Carry out feedstock sampling of material and undertake basic laboratory testing in compliance with procedures

  3.        Control and administer the weighbridge for all materials and vehicles entering and leaving site

  4.        Update the ERP system (Oracle) with all internal and external material movements

  5.        Ensure required documentation is in place to meet regulatory compliance

  6.        Work at height to undertake sampling and cleaning of tankers

Your key relationships will be:

  • Liaise closely with Plant personnel to ensure all requirements for materials/tankers are understood, addressed and highlight potential issues.

  • Liaise with drivers and internal planning team on all Logistics/Tank Operations related matters.

Job requirements

Skills and behaviours you will need to be successful:

  • PC and IT literate including knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • FLT/Telehandler experience desirable

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Good communication

  • Strong team player with a positive can-do attitude

  • Role model for driving HSE compliance in self and others

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills for data entry

Qualifications and experience required:

  • GCSE’s minimum grade 4 in Maths and English

  • Previous logistics/tank operations experience (desirable)

  • Worked in an Industrial setting with good safety practices

  • Experience work at height / confined space (advantage)

  • Experience of jet washing (advantage)

  • Previous office and clerical experience (desirable)
