Main purpose of the role:

The Digital Workplace Consultant will work closely with the Finance and IT teams to identify opportunities to improve, simplify and automate finance processes and reporting, using the organisation’s Microsoft 365 digital workplace. The role involves analysing current working practices within the Finance function, redesigning processes where required, and implementing practical solutions using Microsoft 365 technologies.

This is a 12-month fixed term role.

What you will be doing:

Process Discovery & Improvement

  • Work closely with Finance stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve processes & challenge existing ones through digital tools and automation.

Solution Design & Delivery

  • Design & implement solutions using Microsoft 365 platform and Power Platform to enhance productivity and automate tasks.

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with organisational standards.

Developing capability in Microsoft 365 & Copilot

  • Help develop the organisation’s maturity in the use of Microsoft 365 capabilities that are currently under-utilised.

Digital Adoption and Embedding Technology

  • Support Finance teams in adopting new digital tools and processes whilst promoting best practice.

Collaboration Between IT and Finance

  • Act as a bridge between Finance and IT to ensure solutions meet business needs while aligning with IT architecture, governance and compliance.

  • Contribute to the development of the organisation’s digital workplace roadmap.

Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously identify new opportunities to optimise finance processes using existing technology investments.

 Your key relationships will be:

  • IT team - ensure security, data governance and compliance requirements are met.

  • Finance team - to understand current working practices, challenges and inefficiencies and support with new implementations.

Job requirements

Skills and behaviours you will need to be successful:

  • Strong experience working with Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint and collaboration tools. (Essential)

  • Hands-on experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI). (Essential)

  • Experience improving or redesigning business processes. (Essential)

  • Ability to translate business requirements into digital solutions. (Essential)

  • Experience using Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio or Copilot Agents. (Essential)

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. (Essential)

  • Mindset with a desire to continuously refine BA processes and ways of working. (Desirable)

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Understanding of finance operations such as reporting, reconciliations, approvals and financial controls. (Desirable)

  • Experience delivering digital workplace or process automation projects. (Desirable)

Knowledge of governance and best practices for Power Platform environments. (Desirable)
